John Elbert Wilson, Sr. receives an award for creating the Kent County Mass Choir, that sang together from 1982 - 1997. Its members represented numerous area churches and was also the area's first interracial choir.  It was organized by Cecilia Hudson Everett, Karen Somerville, and John Wilson, who was its choir director.  1980s
