Carolyn Brooks and her Father John Brooks in their Home, 1968. This photo was sent to Carolyn's brother Elzie while he was serving in Vietnam during the Vietnam War in 1968. The Brooks family lived in Coleman, MD. On the back of the photo Dorothy Brooks, John's wife and Carolyn's mother, wrote "Carolyn & Daddy, Merle caught Daddy getting up out of chair." Merle, Carolyn's brother, took the photo. Elzie kept the photograph in a small green photo album as a memento from his time in Vietnam. 1968
