Dear Friend:
You probably have heard that we have made an historic
decision this year at Kent & Queen Anne's Hospital.
We've decided to step out from under the United Fund umbrella
and strike out on our own.
We hope that this decision will be a good one for the
entire community. Whether it is beneficial for the
Hospital will depend entirely upon you, our Friends.
Many of you who reside in Queen Anne’s County have
received a letter similar to this from us before, but
many others, who have contributed through the United
Fund of Kent County, may not have realized how
important your dollars to us. We all know how
high hospital costs are, yet how glad we are to
have excellent medical care available in out own
community when the need strikes suddenly.
It is true that patient fees and reimbursement from
insurance plans and government agencies cover many of
our operating costs. But our plans for Emergency Room
service, so vital to everyone in our area, will need
special help if they’re to reach fulfillment soon.
There is only one way to assure topnotch health services
at the community level; it’s to have a topnotch
community health care team, people who care about
their own health and that of their fellow-citizens.
We have that team here, in the Friends of Kent & Queen
Anne’s Hospital. We know they won’t let down.
As a concerned citizen, won’t you please send a check
for whatever amount you can, in the enclosed envelope?
We know we can count on you as one of our Friends.
