In this oral history interview, Dr. Towson reflects on her life’s journey from surviving a life-threatening
house fire at 5 years old and relocating to Chestertown. She describes her activism beginning in
1964 as one of the four students chosen to integrate Chestertown Elementary School. She talks
about her mother, and all the lessons she has learned from trailblazers before her; as well as her
passion for learning, service, charity, and treating others the way you would want to be treated. November 13 2020
