Scan made from a glass plate negative by Col. John M. South, a Chestertown photographer. Shows three young men, Fletcher Williams, Charles Brooks, and Moses Brown, standing outside the Kent County Jail on Cross Street next to the courthouse. These men were three of eight men convicted in the murder of Dr. James Hill in Millington, MD. The photograph was taken five days before the men were executed for the crime. All three men maintained their innocence up until their deaths.
